Funeral services for A.V. Robbins Sr., 81, of the Plateau Community of Cumberland County, TN, were held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Jones officiated with interment following in the Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at Goff Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, 2016.
Robbins was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Cookeville, TN, to the late Vestal and Notie Scarborough Robbins. He passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at his home. Robbins was a refrigeration mechanic and a United States Navy veteran. He was also a member of the Plateau Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Dorothy "Dot" Tillery Robbins of the Plateau Community; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa And Anthony Murphy of Monterey, TN; son, Marty Dale Robbins of the Lake Tansi community; grandchildren, Robbie Lynn Robbins, Johnny Robbins, Alecia Bo Grant, Lucas Grant, Hank Grant, Tori Robbins and Erica Potter Howard; great grandchildren, Coby Robbins, Tristan Robbins, Kairi Robbins, Brianna Robbins, Paige Robbins, Lexus Vandever, Haylee Erwin, Chevy Erwin, Jesse Howard and Alex Howard; sisters, Betty Robbins Stover of Gallatin, TN, and Joyce Robbins Anderson of Lebanon, TN; and brother, Joseph "Joe" P. Robbins of Greenbrier, TN.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, A.V. Robbins Jr.; sister, Allene Robbins Stover; and brother, Willie J. Robbins.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Hospice of Cumberland County, 30 E. Adams St., Crossville, TN 38555.
