Wanda J. Cox, 70, was born on Aug. 26, 1947, in Lancing, TN, to Mirtie and Helen McCoy and passed away at home on Sept. 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Wanda lit up the world with her smile and kindness. Her favorite place to be was with her family, whether it be traveling, playing games or just relaxing on the back porch looking at the beautiful view. She also enjoyed and excelled at cooking and tending to her flowers and she loved spending time feeding the fish in her pond.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Cox; daughter, Sherrie Cox Walker (Avery); son, Phil Cox (Valorie); very special granddaughter, Kelli Tipton (David Alberson); step grandchildren, Harley Walker and Steven Douglas; sister, Brenda Wing; brother, Archie McCoy; special sister-in-law, Donna Parham; best friend, Carolyn Lindsey; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mirtie Homer McCoy and Helen Grace Howard McCoy; and brother, Paul McCoy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from noon to 2 p.m. with the service to follow. Bro. Roy Langley will officiate and burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery.
