Wanda Christine Bivens, 87, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 10, 2016.
She was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Monroe County, TN, the daughter of James E. and Gladys Stapp Lawson. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Church of God of Prophecy where she taught Sunday school and children's church for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Bivens and his wife, Rebecca, of Crossville; daughter, Angie Robbins of Crossville; brothers, Odean Lawson and his wife, Margie, of Spring City, TN, and Dwight Lawson and his wife, Marlene, of Murfreesboro, TN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Bivens; brother, Dexter Lawson; and sisters, Bobbie Barnwell and Shelby Brewer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at noon at Pine Grove Church of God of Prophecy. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church. The body will lie in state on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service at the church.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
