Thomas Wm.

Thomas Wm. "Bill" Dodson, 76, of Crossville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday night, April 14, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1942, in Washington, DC, to Evelyn Martin Dodson and William Arnold Dodson. He grew up in Maryland and received his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Maryland. He was retired lieutenant with the District of Columbia Fire Department, receiving several commendations throughout his service.
He retired to Crossville in 1987, an area he had long loved, and was a successful real estate agent for many years. He was also known to many local families as a school bus driver with the Cumberland County Transportation Department. He was an avid golfer and a great and loyal fan of the UT Vols. He also enjoyed walks by the lake with his wife, Kitty, of 50 years. Enjoying nature was a part of his life daily, especially feeding the birds and squirrels, then watching them with his favorite and faithful pet companion.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kitty Dodson. He is also survived by his children, Dustin Dodson (Kathryn), Richard Dodson and Debra Anderson; two "special mothers," Amy V. Spears and Dottie Dodson; brother, Phillip Dodson (Rose); four grandchildren, Adalyn, Sydney, Jacob and Cory; and sisters-in-law, Rita Lamb and Jean Spears. Beloved brother-in-law, Jim ("J.C.") Spears, passed away the same week as Bill.
Bill is predeceased by his mother and father.
The family is having a "Celebration of Life Service" on Saturday, May 18, in the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (across the street from Walmart).
Family will gather in the chapel from 1-2 p.m. with friends joining the "Celebration of Life Service" from 2-4 p.m. with refreshments at the conclusion of services. The service will be led by his son, Dustin Dodson.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Brother, while we were not as close as I believe we both felt that we should have been, we always had a special love and respect that only Brothers can share. Now the Father has called you to be with him and I am left behind to continue my journey until the time comes when I will also be called to join you and the rest of our family. Until then my Brother, you will always live in my heart and my memories. Rest in Peace with the Lord. We shall be together again one day in his house.

There are no words to express the loss I feel for our precious Bill. I feel he went to Heaven first to wait for our precious J.C. who followed 8 days later. You all are always in my heart and I am here for you... love Jeannie
