Stanley Willard Arnett, 86, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 11, 2018, at Wharton Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill after a long illness.
He was the beloved father of Susan (Bill) Schmich of Crossville, Ronald (Janet) Arnett of Mentor, OH, and Lori (Dan) Thee of Mars, PA. Stan was born May 6, 1931, in Cleveland, OH. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Audrey Ann (Barbeck) Arnett; sister, Norma Hochschild; grandson, Will Schmich; and parents, Willard and Leah Arnett.
Stan experienced many career paths in northern Ohio including steelworker, tool and die maker, construction contractor, real estate agent, and restaurant management. He always enjoyed big band music and was a lifelong fan of the Lawrence Welk Orchestra and their "champagne music."
Stan and Audrey retired to Crossville in 2004. He loved the Cumberland County Playhouse and spent many happy hours volunteering there. He was also a founding member of the Plateau Eat Righters Food Club. He enjoyed the companionship of his little maltese, "Miss Daisy."
Stan was a "Grandpa" to Lori Singleton, Jennifer (Matt) McLaughlin, Kristen Shanks, Michael (Misty) Arnett, Amy Arnett, Bryan Thee, Holden Thee, Jackie (Orlando) Camargo, Jeanna (David) Redlin and Jenise Fogarty.
Great-grandchildren include Collin Shanks, Kyan Shanks, Owen McLaughlin, Adelaide McLaughlin, Finn McLaughlin, Lily Arnett, Lacey Arnett, Diego Camargo, Mateo Camargo, Rachael Fogarty, Alex Fogarty and Patrick Fogarty.
