Staff Sergeant Clayton Doyle Eller


Staff Sergeant Clayton Doyle Eller, USMC, 63, of Crossville, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 29, 2019.
He was born April 20, 1956, in Crossville, son of the late A. E. Eller and Katherine Helen (Lowe) Eller.
After graduating from Cumberland County High School, Clay joined the United States Marine Corps where he served for over 12 years. While in the Marine Corps, he was an aircraft hydraulic pneumatic mechanic where he supervised and led troops of fellow Marines in successful operations on two tours on the USS Saratoga Aircraft Carrier and three tours on the USS Kennedy Aircraft Carrier.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Eller of Crossville; children, Jason Walz (Anna Buddy) of Clarksville, David Walz (Mindy Halfman) of Kansas City, MO, Joshua Clark (Tiffiny) of Crossville and Stephanie Clark (Anthony Wilson) of Crossville; grandchildren, Nikolas, Daniel, Savannah, Ryder, Trinity, John, Hazel, Braxton and Trisha; and brothers, Terry Eller, Steve Eller (Dianne) and Stan Eller, all of Crossville.
In addition to his parents, Clay is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Eller and David Eller.
Funeral services will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 3, at 6 p.m. with Pastor Tim Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bilbrey Funeral Home to help with funeral costs.
