Ronald W. Kelly, 82, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed from this life, Friday, May 19, 2017, at Cumberland House of Crossville.
Ron was born April 24, 1935, in Hart, MI, to the late Ethelyn (Clark) and Kenneth Kelly.
Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a super engineer, an avid golfer and a master craftsman and skilled woodworker who could build anything from toy trucks to full size sailboats. Ron graduated from Owosso High School, attended General Motors Institute (GMI) and went on to work his entire career at General Motors in Lansing, MI. After his move to Fairfield Glade, he became active in the community, serving on the Golf Committee, becoming a volunteer firefighter and was one of the Founding Fathers of the golf group Yukon Jacks. Ron was loved by all that knew him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Gail Kelly; three daughters, Jill Kelly Schaefer, Erin (Kelly) and Jim Radley and Linda (Rider) and Owen Fletke; four sons, Scott and Rebecca Kelly, Doug and Kirsten Kelly, Doug and Shawn Rider and Eric Rider; 21 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Terry Kelly Bowersox of Saint Petersburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his grandson Phillip Kelly and sister Patricia Kelly Gurden.
As per his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held July 22, 2017, at noon at St. George Marina in Fairfield Glade.
