Roger Ness Creighton, 81, passed away Dec. 12, 2017, in Wichita, KS. A memorial service will be held on March 18, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church in Crossville, with Pastor Andy Aikens officiating.
Roger was born on Oct. 13, 1936, in Waterloo, IA, the son of the late John Turner Creighton and Gladys (Ness).
Before retiring and moving to Crossville, he and his wife raised their children in Sylvania, OH. Roger was a proud graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in welding engineering. He was an engineer through and through. Besides a long career in the aeronautical and automobile industries, Roger developed a software program and launched a consulting business. Ultimately, he retired from United Technologies.
Roger will be remembered for his kindness, spirit of adventure, love of cars, Buckeye football and gardening, but most especially for his dedication to his family and friends.
Survivors include his three children, Laura (Kelly) McFall of Wichita, KS, Steven (Cinnamon) Creighton of Blissfield, MI, and Amy Creighton of Columbus, OH; his sister, Elaine (Tilden) Helvenston, of Crossville; his six grandchildren, Logan (Kayla) Nichols, Jordan (Lauren) Nichols, Alexander Creighton, Connor Creighton, Jenna McFall and Emily McFall; one great-grandchild, Joseph Nichols; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Eileen (Foley); and his brother, John David Creighton.
