Richard Lynn Cole died peacefully in Crossville on May 12, 2018, at the age of 76.
Lynn is survived by his children Greg Cole, Cindy Ramsbottom, Susan Chiles, Rich Cole and son-in-law Gerard Rojo; sister Susan Cole Strange and brother James Randall Cole; granddaughter Rachel Ramsbottom, grandsons Nicholas Davis and Jordan Davis; nephew Lee Strange, niece Katie Strange Braddock, grandnieces Aren Strange Goforth and Carly Strange; and great grandnephews Adam Murphy and Aden Goforth.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Annette Cole Davis; and parents, James Elmer Cole and Mary Arlene Shropshire Cole. He is greatly missed by many, including his best friend, Thomas V. Terry.
Lynn was born on Aug. 10, 1941, in Knoxville. He graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Tennessee where he was a proud member of the Pride of the Southland marching band. He remained a lifelong fan of the Tennessee Volunteers.
There will be a memorial service June 15 at noon (CDT) at First Baptist Church of Crossville where he was a member; Pastor Clyde Schultz officiating.
The family appreciates the church, Bilbrey Funeral Home, and the loving care rendered by Wyndridge Home Care and Quality Home Care, especially from Sandy, Tammy and Christy.
Family and close friends will join together for a celebration of Lynn's life on June 18.
