Ray Thomas Pelfrey, 74, of Crab Orchard, passed away Jan. 28, 2019. He was born July 14, 1944, in Crab Orchard, the son of Garland and Artie Kirkland Pelfrey. He was the owner of Pelfrey Tree Service and was a United States Army veteran having served during Vietnam. He was also a member of Harriman Church of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Pelfrey of Crab Orchard; son, Spencer Pelfrey and his wife Reba of Crab Orchard; daughter, Beverly Potter and her husband Terry of Harriman; brothers, Walter Pelfrey of Crossville and Ralph Pelfrey and his wife Jean, also of Crossville; and grandchildren, Casie Scarberry and her husband Josh, Grace Sharp and her husband Josh, April Pelfrey and Emily Cook and her husband Olen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Ann Pelfrey.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Hood Funeral Home. The family received friends on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Hood Funeral Home. Burial was in Haley's Grove Cemetery.
