Ralph D.

Ralph Duane "Dewey" Peterson passed away on June 13, 2019. A native of Busti, NY, and a graduate of Southwestern High School in Jamestown, NY, he married his high school sweetheart, Georgia Bosko, also from Busti, NY. Following his academic and doctoral work at Cornell University he was hired by the Kellogg Company, where he served in various research and executive positions in both the U.S. and Canada until his retirement and relocation to Fairfield Glade.
He and Georgia found their "home" in Tennessee where he was actively involved in religious and community service, first as a pastor for a Grace Communion International associated home church, serving as president of the Crossville Habitat for Humanity, and various other community outreach activities.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Georgia V. Peterson; four children, Scott, Michael, Jennifer and Joel; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He lived a rich life in the service of others and faithfulness in Christ. He was truly a man of character and love.
A celebration of life service is planned for Saturday, Aug. 17, at Hood Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, send donations to Habitat for Humanity in Crossville.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality -Rom 12:13 this is how I remember Dewey. A man of character, faithfulness, kindness; a real servant heart! Condolences to Georgia, Mike, Scott, Jennifer and Joel.
