Patricia Ruth Kregel, 83, a long-time Crossville resident, passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017.
Born in New York City, Pat was the only child of Daniel Joseph Keefe and Ruth M. (Highland) Keefe. Pat always wanted a large family, married at age 19 and had six children with her first husband, Donald Francis Kammer, before his untimely death in 1976.
Pat was very fortunate to meet and marry another fine man, Alfred Henry Kregel, a widower and father of five. Al and Pat successfully merged their families and many circles of friends and traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Europe before retiring at a lakeside home in Lake Tansi, TN.
In her younger days Pat was a homemaker, skier and bowler. Right up until her passing she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, tending to her plants, watching movies and playing cards with friends.
Pat was an energetic lady who continuously added new friends and nurtured long term friendships. She was very active in the St. Alphonsus Church community, including the St. Alphonsus CCW Scholarship Fund. She was modest about all the lives she enhanced through many other volunteer activities.
She is survived by her and Al's 10 children, 22 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, cousins, many friends and her feline companion, Mackenzie.
A mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic church in Crossville on Monday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be sent to the non-denominational St. Alphonsus CCW Scholarship Fund at 151 St. Alphonsus Way, Crossville, TN 38555.
