Nancy Jane Myers Schaefer, 72, of Kingston, joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven early Saturday morning, Oct. 8, 2016, at her home with her beloved family by her side. Nancy was born Feb. 3, 1944, in Washington D.C. She married the love of her life, Bill Schaefer, in 1964. Together, they raised three wonderful sons. Throughout their marriage, they displayed an example of true love, which was a role model to all who knew them.
Nancy, always nurturing and compassionate, was known as a second mother to her sons' many friends. Her life's work was that of the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31 joyfully serving the Lord by taking care of her husband, her family and others. Her church family has been Liberty Baptist Church in Kingston for over 25 years. Nancy is also well known in this community as her husband's partner and office manager of their family business, Schaefer's Automotive. After retirement, she continued her unwavering work ethic displaying the love of Jesus Christ to her husband, her grandchildren, family, friends and everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reves and Effie Tabor Myers.
Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Felix William "Bill" Schaefer of Kingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Becky Schaefer of Kingston, Jason and Tabatha of Niceville, FL, and Timothy Schaefer of Karns; grandchildren, Thor, Brock, Samantha, Reves and Emilee Jane Schaefer; brothers, Wayne Myers and wife Jean of Crossville, Raymond Myers and wife Debbie of Crossville, David Myers and wife Kathy of Goodlettsville and Joe Byron Myers of Crossville; sister-in-law, Roberta Geissel and husband George of Kalamazoo, MI; and many nieces, nephews, a host of extended family members, church family and friends.
The family received friends on Monday, Oct. 10, at Liberty Baptist Church in Kingston with the funeral service following at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Rev. Randy Griffis and Nancy's grandson, Bro. Reves Schaefer, officiating. Friends and family met Tuesday at Fraker Funeral Home to go in procession to New Midway Cemetery for a graveside service.
