Myrtie Jeanne Pace Kellogg, 87, of Crossville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Life Care Center of Crossville.
She was born on March 4, 1930, in Waynesboro, GA. She grew up in Augusta, GA, where she graduated from Tubman High School in 1948. After graduation, she moved to Galion, OH, to live with her sister Frances Hughes (now deceased). There she met Lawrence Kellogg and they were married on March 10, 1949. While in Galion, she worked at Galion Iron Works and United Church Directories.
After retirement, Myrtie and Lawrence moved to Crossville in 1992, where they were active members of Homestead United Methodist Church. After 68 years of marriage, Lawrence passed away on May 26 of this year.
Myrtie enjoyed her church friends and loved all forms of needlework, sewing and quilting, knitting baby sweaters and booties, and crocheting angels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister.
She is survived by her son, Keith Kellogg of Galion, OH; two daughters, Karen Orphis and Nancy Powell, both of Crossville; one brother, George Lively, of Martinez, GA; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; as well as sister-in-law, Vera Kochheiser of Galion, OH, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Rhinehart of Cleveland, TN.
A memorial service will be held at Homestead United Methodist Church, details not finalized.
