Melvin Lewis Moss (Mel), 75, of Crossville, passed away at Cookeville Regional Hospital on September 3, 2017. Melvin was born to Dewey and Oma Anderson Moss on Sept. 19, 1941, in Danville, VA. Mel was a truck driver for 45 years and loved to play the guitar and sing country music. He was of Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charles, James, Bill and Robert.
Mel is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sharon Moss; children, Jeff (Tammy) Moss of Belews Creek, NC; Lisa Jones (Phillip Claiborne); and Angela Linson of Crossville; sisters, Nellie Dalton and Nancy (Richard) McCune; brothers, Barney Moss, Ray (Dorothy) Moss and Leon Moss (Frances Greer); grandchildren, Trevor Moss, Mesha Taylor, Hailey Taylor, Hannah Linson and Jaycee Linson; several nieces and nephews; and loving and caring sisters-in-law, Sandra (Glenn) Fannin and Debbie Garland.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Companion Funeral & Cremation Service of Cleveland, TN, is in charge of the arrangements.
