Mary Lou Whittenburg, 94, of Crossville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at McKendree Village in Hermitage, TN.
She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Crossville, daughter of the late Theodore R. Tabor and Cora Lee (Wyatt) Tabor. Mary Lou worked as a stock person for Walmart and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her sons, Odell (Becky) Whittenburg and Fred Whittenburg, Crossville; and daughters, Vivian Abernathy of Mount Juliet and Zelma Bennett, Crossville. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold James Whittenburg; great-grandson, Adam Whittenburg; son-in-law, Dean Bennett; brother, Oliver Tabor; and sisters, Ruth Parsons, Teddie Rachel Tabor and Mamie McCuiston.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at 10 a.m. with Bro. James Haynes officiating. Interment in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
