Mary Louise Hamby Monday, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Methodist Hospital, Oak Ridge.
Mary was born on March 4, 1929, in Crossville to the late Alvin and Pearl Hamby. She had a strong Christian faith and is now in her deserved place in heaven. Mary was a much-loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Katherine (Steve) James of Dogwood, Audrey (Charlie) Akins of Crossville and Margaret (Les) Muller of Alcoa; son, Robert (Kate) Monday of Dogwood; brother, James Hamby of Crossville; grandchildren, Carrie Weaver, Julie Griffin, Michael Weaver, Bobby and Sean Monday, Charlie and Tom Akins, and Leslie and Lauren Muller; as well as nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rev. Leonard Monday; sisters, Edna Hensley, Edith Honeycutt and Jo Southern; and brother, Robert Hamby.
Receiving of friends will be Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bilbrey Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Weaver, Bobby Monday, Sean Monday, Charlie Akins, Tom Akins and Leslie Muller.
