Martha "Bumpy"'s Story
Martha "Bumpy" Jane Turner was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Murfreesboro, TN, and passed away on Jan. 19, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late Milton and Mary Jane Mabry. She was the widow of James (Jim) Turner, and they shared 27 years of marriage together before his passing. Janet Boston was Bumpy's best friend for more than 64 years. She was also very close friends with Frances Campbell, Belva Newby, Judy Koletar, Diane Parvin and so many more. She was the owner and operator of Miss Bumpy's Little Red School House for many years. She loved all of her children and loved seeing them again as young adults and some with children of their own. She would not want them crying but laughing and carrying on the party because it was always a party wherever she was.
She is survived by her children, son Kyle and wife Linda Turner and daughter Destiny and husband Tim King; aunt, Myra Hedgecoth; grandchildren, Tory and Rio King and Josh and wife Brittany Smith of Kentucky; and great-grandchild, Hudson Smith of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mary Jane Mabry; husband, James "Jim" Turner; and granddaughter, Brittani Smith.
