Lynne Eileen Summerhays, 76, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away on June 30, 2017, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. At the time of her death, she was comforted by her husband, Jerry, and the outstanding staff at CMC.
Born in Detroit, MI, on May 24, 1941, she was the daughter of Alice and Ernest Wedhorn. Lynne was a wonderful wife, mother and nana. Lynne and Jerry were best friends before and throughout their 33 year marriage. She was also of the Lutheran faith throughout her life.
She was employed by Master Pneumatic Corporation in Sterling Heights, MI, retiring after 42 consecutive years of service. She started as a bookkeeper and retired as the director of marketing. She headed many fiduciary programs through her tenure. During those years, she completed her B.S. degree and C.P.A. from Walsh College in Detroit, MI.
In retirement, she moved to Fairfield Glade with Jerry and resided her last 14 years in that "little bit of heaven." She also spent the past six years as a part-time winter resident-owner in Lakeland, FL, at Woodbrook Estates.
Lynne was an extremely talented miniaturist-artist. She spent 40 years dedicated to this art-form and was able to display this talent in several states: Florida, Tennessee, and Michigan. She was also a high level amateur in many sewing skills, including crochet. Finally, she just loved to iron everyday!
She is survived by her daughter Karen Vickers of Harrison Township, MI; son Todd (and wife Kellie) Summerhays of Middleville, MI; grandsons Jonah and Caleb Summerhays of Middleville, MI; brother Larry (and wife Leilla) Wedhorn of Dallas, GA; sisters-in-law Mona Ault of Saginaw, MI, and Myrna Hockin of McAllen, TX.
