Loretta "Lorrie"'s Story
Loretta "Lorrie" Ruth Perkey was born on April 14, 1939, in Indianapolis, IN, and succumbed to cancer on Aug. 12, 2017, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
She studied Fine Art at Bowling Green State University where she met her husband, Lowell Perkey. They were married for 57 years.
Lorrie is survived by her husband and children, Susan Marple (David), Daniel Perkey (Jill) and Sharon Patterson (Toby). She had nine grandchildren: Rob Dascoli, Katie Detore, Kristin Scharte, Jaci Fait, Nathan, Lauren and Matthew Perkey, and Reilly and Peyton Patterson; and 10 great-grandchildren: Carlo, Capri and Leo Dascoli; Owen and Quinn Scharte; Mackenzie, Madelyn, Zachary and Evan Fait; and Michael Detore (due in October).
She was born to Walter and Ruth Rogers and is survived by sisters Virginia Rose and Emmie McKillips.
Lorrie will forever be remembered for her positive spirit, courage and grace.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cumberland Cove Welcome Center in Monterey, TN, on Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a burial memorial in Ottawa, OH, on Sept. 30. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her honor to Hospice, American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
