Leslie Niles Whipple, 89, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away at his home on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.
He was born April 16, 1928, in Sturgis, MI, son of the late Leslie Miles Whipple and Frances Helen (Niles) Whipple.
Leslie had many talents. He worked as a fourth grade teacher, was a personnel director and played professional music including saxophone, clarinet and flute. He played for the Green Bay Packers band for 15 years and was also the announcer during the half-time shows. Leslie was of the Presbyterian faith and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by; sister, Shirley Ann Knarr of Michigan; sons, Thomas (Cynthia) Whipple of Califronia and Jon Whipple of Florida; daughter-in-law, June Whipple of Colorado; grandchildren, Jason Whipple, Luke Whipple and Elspeth Baldwin; and great-grandchildren, Brett, Ian and Kyla.
In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ann (Pierre) Whipple; son, Steven Whipple; sister, Betty Miller; and daughter-in-law, Roberta Whipple.
