Lawrence Eldon Kellogg, 90, of Crossville, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, at Life Care Center of Crossville.
He was born Jan. 22, 1927, in Galion, OH, the son of Glenn and Estella (Tracht) Kellogg.
Lawrence served in the Navy as a fireman aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Cotton from 1945 to 1946. He married Myrtie Jeanne Pace on March 10, 1949. He worked as a machinist and later as a supervisor for a job shop. He retired and moved to Tennessee in 1992. A former scout leader and a 70-year member of The American Legion, he loved yard work, football, reading and most of all his family. He was a member of Homestead United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Myrtie; a son, Keith Kellogg of Galion, OH; two daughters, Karen Morphis and Nancy Powell of Fairfield Glade; nine grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
