Johnny Ray Hall

February 23, 1963 - August 19, 2018

Johnny Ray Hall Johnny Ray Hall was born Feb. 23, 1963, in Crossville; he was called home to our Lord and Savior Aug. 19, 2018, at the age of 55 after an extended illness.
Johnny grew up in the Rinnie Community and his loving mother took him and his sisters to the Rinnie Baptist Church, raising the family in the Christian faith.
He was very intelligent, outgoing, a leader and loved by his teachers. He was the only son and cherished his close relationships with his four younger sisters and his mom and dad who filled their home with unconditional love.
He was the apple of his Granny Ethel's eye and loved by all. He lived his life to the fullest. He was charismatic, very athletic and pulling a Johnny prank every now and then. He loved the outdoors and bonded with his father while hunting and fishing. Throughout his life he enjoyed camping, boating, skiing, playing poker with his friends and spending time with his family.
Following in his Papaw and Dad's footsteps, he became a builder in the Atlanta area and was well respected for the quality of his work. He and Gina built a beautiful home in the North Georgia Mountains where they enjoyed many good times over the last 30 years. Gina and Johnny were best friends and she was always there for "Johnny Ray," as he was for her.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virgil Hall, Ethel Garrision, Roy Moles and Virginia Mead; and special cousins, David Cook and Terry Lynn Underwood; and Gina's father, John Watkins.
He leaves behind lifelong soulmate, Gina Watkins; mother, Darlene Hall; father, Butch Hall (Judy); daughter, Christy Holt (Brad); grandchildren, Blake, Cenleigh and Celsey; sisters, Debra Pence (Robert), Judy Horn, Kathy Hall and Terrye Patton (Vernon); step-sisters, Kylene Cook (Sam), Annette Hassler (Tim) and Joy Love; nephews, Kyle, Cody, Dustin, Justin, Levi, Logan, Luke and Wil; step-nephews, Chad, Derek and Aaron; nieces, Lecherisha (Chuy) and Kalani; great-niece, Jesla; great-nephews, Degan and Eli; step-nieces, Ashley, Dakota, Jessie and Lizz; aunts, Linda and Theresa; cousins, Margena, Dreama, Jenny and Chrystal; and Christin forever friends and brothers, Michael, Randy and Gary.
He is also survived by Gina's family, grandmother, Mildred Allison (Jack); mother, Anita Watkins; sister, Mary (Jerry) Catherine, Laruen and Matthew; brother, John Watkins (Debbie), Molly and Andrew; brother, Bill Watkins (Laura), William, Rebecca and Anna; and many other family members and friends in Tennessee and Georiga.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at noon at Springs Chapel on Roslin Road, Banner Springs in Fentress County, with a gathering immediately following at the home of Butch and Judy Hall to celebrate Johnny's life. Feel free bring a side dish, chair and a story to share about Johnny.
