John Julius Forte Sr. was born on March 21, 1940, in Bronx, NY, and passed away on April 24, 2016, after a lengthy illness.
He was married to his wife, Patricia, for 25 years. Mr. Forte retired from Florida law enforcement. He has worked as a police officer, a detective and spent nine years as a jail warden in St. Lucie Co., FL, where he was promoted to the rank of major. Mr. Forte retired in 1994 and moved to Crossville. He loved football and baseball. Mr. Forte was a New York Yankees and a New York Giants fan.
Mr. Forte was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Forte; father, Celeste Forte; and brother, Robert Forte.
Mr. Forte is survived by his wife, Patricia Forte; children, John Jr. and Christine Forte of Crossville, Donald and Yvette Forte of Pennsylvania, Kenneth and Kim Forte of Crossville, Lisa Grimes of Palm City, FL, Laurie and Andy Runge, and Todd and Sandra Bower; and 16 grandchildren.
To celebrate John's life, the family and friends will gather at Forte's on the Square restaurant on May 1, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of Cumberland County.
