March 10, 1932—March 25, 2016 Joe David Wilder, 84, of Crossville, passed away March 25, 2016, at Cumberland House in Crossville. He was born March 10, 1932, in Treadway, TN, son of the late James Harvey Wilder and Mattie (Lawson) Wilder. Mr. Wilder retired from the United States Marine Corps after 25 years. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and was awarded two purple hearts. He is survived by his sons, David Wilder Sr. of Crossville, William Wilder of Pegram, TN, and Joe P. Wilder of Crossville; daughters, Anita Lewis (James) of Bon Aqua, TN, Donna Thackston (Snoden) of Crossville and Linda Sonkin (Peter) of Nashville, TN; and sisters, Emma Turnmire and Mamie Topsoglou, both of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilder is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Frances (Jordan) Wilder; brothers, Buster Wilder, George Wilder and James Wilder; and sisters, Ruby Wolfe, Margaret Williams, Bonnie Pilkion and Ludema Wilder. Funeral services will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home Friday, April 1, at 10 a.m. with Bro. Bob Zavattieri officiating. Interment in Crossville City Cemetery with full military honors. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
