Jere's Story

Jere Landis Robinson (Coach Rob), born in Cookeville, was called home by Our Heavenly Father on March 4, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Z and Beulah Robinson; grandparents, Zebedee and Methia Robinson and George and Dora Grimes; and siblings. Grace, Ruth, Ruby, Dorothy, Geraldine and Billy.
Jere is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan Horne Robinson; two sons, Alan Scott (Michelle) and Michael Andrew (Tiffany) Robinson; and two grandsons, Patrick Alan and Zachary Neale Robinson.
Jere was a graduate of Tennessee Tech and a longtime educator in Cumberland County. He was an inspiration to countless children and young people, instilling in them strong moral values. He was an avid golfer and collector of antiques with a special interest in Tennessee license plates.
He was a longstanding member of Crossville United Methodist Church where he served many years as an usher and greeter with a loving smile, warm handshake and a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with service to follow at the church, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or Cumberland House Hospice.
