James "Jim"'s Story
James "Jim" Edward Carter Sr., 59, of Crossville, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
He was born Dec. 23, 1957, in Crab Orchard, son of the late Don Carter and Dorothy (Chaffin) Carter. Jim worked as a dynamite specialist for Franklin Limestone for many years, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, James E. Carter Jr., Crossville; daughter, Brandalyn (Jason) Lancaster, Spring City; and sisters, Kathy Sells, Martha Barnett and Donna Barnett, all of Crossville. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Young.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Randall Dye officiating. Interment in Woody Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy Young, Jerry Young, Jay Young, Richard Barnett, Robert Hayes and Larry Pelfrey.
