James Michael Blaylock, 68, of Sparta, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 22, 1948, in Pleasant Hill, the son of the late James Charles Blaylock and Gladys Jewell (Watley) Blaylock.
James worked as an electrician and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. He also proudly served his country in the Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Blaylock of the Eastland Community; daughter, Cynthia Flowers of the Eastland Community; granddaughter, Jessica Holt Thornton of Pleasant Hill; grandson, Michael Flowers of the Eastland Community; great-grandchild, Braxton Thornton of Pleasant Hill; step-mother, Ethel Blaylock of the Eastland Community; brothers, Randy Blaylock of Sparta and Terry Miller of Crossville; and sisters, Sandra Vincent of Crossville and Stephanie Ramirez of McMinnville.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Miller and Ronald Miller.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Josh Myers officiating. Interment was in Clifty Cemetery.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
