Nov. 28, 1826—May 17, 2015 A private family gathering will be held at a later date for Ila Grace (Stover) Martin, 88, of the Newton Community of Cumberland County. It was her desire to have no formal visitation or services. Mrs. Martin passed away peacefully May 17, 2015. She was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Vandever, TN, to the late Wesley G. Stover and Mary Alice Green Ramsey. Mrs. Martin was an avid amateur naturalist. She could name almost any variety of Upper Cumberland bird or plant by sight. She was an expert crafter, known for her craft demonstrations, exquisite quilt designs and handmade teddy bears. She was a Christian and a member of the Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, James Ramsey of Cartersville, GA, and Walter Edmond Ramsey of Crossville. She is survived by son, Thomas Martin (and Renata) of Monticello, KY; former daughter-in-law, Ellen Martin of Whitleyville, TN; son, Paul Martin (and Joni) of Kennewick, WA; daughter, Teresa Martin Kerley (and Darrell) of Cookeville; grandchildren, Elohi Martin (and Devon) and Vevila Martin, Brady Ray (and Christina), Caitlin Grace Kerley and Casey Martin; sisters, Carlos Seal, Betty Atkinson, Loie Buck and Alice Byrd; and brother, Carl Ramsey.
