Frederick John Henkel, 79, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at Cumberland House.
He was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Columbus, OH, son of the late John Frederick Henkel and Violet (Sunday) Henkel. Frederick worked many years as National Designer for Sears, and also worked 15 years at Cracker Barrel. He attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Henkel of Fairfield Glade; sons, Mark Henkel of Addison, IL, and Todd (Carrie) Henkel of Yorkville, IL; and grandchildren, Andrew, Devin, Lauren, Cameron and Hayden.
In addition to his parents, Frederick is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Elzey.
Funeral services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m. with Father John Dowling officiating with iInterment in St. Francis of Assisi Columbarium.
