Mrs. Earlene Woody Caruso, 78, was born July 11, 1939, in Crossville. Earlene, known as "Nana" to her family, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at home with her loving family present.
Earlene was preceded in death by her husband, Carmen Caruso; parents, Earl and Lucile Richards Woody; and grandparents, Andy and Della Woody and John and Arminta Turner Richards, all of Crossville.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, David Caruso and Dotty Smith Caruso; grandchildren, Brandi (Javier) Leon and Carman Caruso, all from Nashville; and one brother, Roger Woody, who resides in Crossville. Regrettably, Earlene was not able to enjoy the birth of her first great-grandchild, Landon Leon, which is anticipated March 2, 2018.
Earlene graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1957. She attended Tennessee Tech and Nashville Business College. She retired as an administrative assistant after 48 years of service at the Ellington Agricultural Center. She cherished the memories of her former co-workers.
A Celebration of Life service was held Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall. A gathering of family and friends was Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
