Dorothy Luella Neil Moore left her earthly home on Friday, April 28, 2017, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville for that better home with her Heavenly Father and to join her relatives and friends who had gone on before.
Dorothy served her country during WWII in the U.S. Navy as a nurse. She had resided in Crossville for the past 10 years. Prior to that she lived in Knoxville and also the Wears Valley Community of Sevier County.
She was preceded in her journey by her parents, Lee and Stella Neil; husband, Sherman Moore; son, Michael Moore; and brother, Jack Neil.
She is survived by her daughter, Merry Moore Anderson and husband Bruce of Crossville; son, Aaron Moore of Seattle, WA; brother, James Neil of Knoxville; four grandchildren, Sherman, Laurel, Ember and Holly; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
The family would like to thank everyone for their help and prayers, especially to her caregivers at Cumberland Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sevier Co. Food Ministry, P.O. Box 6042 Sevierville, TN 37862.
In keeping with her wishes, Ms. Moore is to be cremated and memorial services will be announced at a later date. McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy., Knoxville, TN 37924 is honored to be serving the Moore family.
