Dora's Story

Dora Mae Ingram, 78, of Rockwood, TN, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016, at The Bridge at Rockwood. She was born May 6, 1937, in Meigs County, TN, to Jake Sutton and Mamie Thompson Sutton. Mrs. Ingram was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed writing songs, gardening, cooking and canning, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading the Bible and read it through many times.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ingram; sisters, Nettie Sutton, Faye Mullins and Alice Sutton; and brothers, Jimmy Sutton, Jack Sutton, Earl Sutton, Ernest Sutton, Warren Sutton, Dale Sutton, John Sutton and George Sutton.
Survivors include her children, Gary Wayne "Cotton" Ingram, Kaye Howard, Hank Ingram & wife Kathy, Russell Ingram & wife Debbie, Rolland "Spider" Ingram & wife Lisa, and Robin Ingram & wife Donna; grandchildren, Gerald Howard, Janie Howard, Rebecca Pelfrey, Brian Ingram, Sherry Sharp, Amanda Treadway, Stephanie Baumgardner, Sara Ingram, Taylor Ingram, Jesse Ingram, Ashley Ingram and Lucas Ingram; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Vic Sutton & wife Gloria; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
The family received friends Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the Evans Mortuary. Graveside services and interment will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Rockwood, with Pastor Brian Hines officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
