"There are some people in this world who are, for lack of a better word, special. David Dooley was one of God's special people. His purpose in life was simply to show love. And he more than fulfilled his purpose. When David talked to you he made you feel like you mattered. He made you feel like you were important. His casual manner and easy smile made everyone comfortable. I know that all of his family and friends will make sure that his precious little boy knows how special his daddy was. I love you, David. I know you loved me too because you told me. I'll see you again," said Lisa Choate, Cannon County High School teacher.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, in the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Chip Bond officiating. Visitation with the family was held prior to the service.
Per David's request, he will be cremated after his funeral service. His ashes will be spread in the Upper Nantahala River in North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his children which can be made at Woodbury Funeral Home until a fund is established. Contact the funeral home at (615) 563-2311.
