Curtis Leroy Chase, 76, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away on July 18, 2017, at the Hospice Cumberland House in Crossville.
Born in Antrim, OH, on Feb. 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Roy and Dorothy Chase. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Juliann Chase; five sisters - Joy (Jim) Weekley, Donna (Bob) Bond, Patsy (Jim) Nay, Carolyn Wilson, Vicki Keefer; and many nieces and nephews.
After living 20 years in Dayton, OH, where Curtis retired from the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, he and Julie moved to Fairfield Glade in 2008. Curtis was able to achieve his retirement dream of living on the lake and having his pontoon at the back door where he could fish and boat at leisure.
He was a lifelong avid sports fan who passionately followed his sports teams which included Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers, among others.
He directed multiple bridge clubs in St. Paul, MN, in the 1970s and achieved his Life Master status at that time. After many years of not playing bridge, he resumed his passion after moving to Fairfield Glade. He was a very competitive player, where he also directed and enjoyed the game immensely.
A memorial service for Curtis will be Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County, 30 E Adams St., Crossville, TN 38555. (931) 484-4748.
