Events

Caroline V. Hamilton Cravens died peacefully in her sleep on May 6, 2019, at Uplands nursing home.
She was born Sept. 2, 1933, in Pikeville, the daughter of Ralph H. Hamilton and Mable Blaylock Hamilton. She had one sister, Evelyn Hamilton Stewart, preceded in death; Major T. Hamilton, preceded in death; and Charles L. Hamilton of Cookeville.
Carolyn attended Bledsoe County High School for her first two years of high school and finished her last two years of high school in Cumberland County. She then graduated from Fort Sanders School of Nursing, receiving her R.N. in nursing degree. She then graduated from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia as a nurse anesthetist. She scored 99 on her State Anesthesia Boards, which has not been surpassed to this day. She was married to Dr. Gene Cravens, her beloved husband, preceded in death. She is survived by one son, Charles Thomas Cravens; daughter-in-law, Ellen Lustana Cravens; granddaughter, Caroline Jean Cravens; and grandson, Gene Thomas Cravens, all of whom she loved dearly. She loved life and was a very giving and kind person.
In lieu of flowers she would have wanted any donations sent to: Kids Christmas Inc., 80 Miler Avenue, Crossville, TN 38555, 931-484-0432. She loved children and would have wanted to help this organization above flowers.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
