Carlee Barnwell Wyatt Carlee Barnwell Wyatt, 80, of Gatlinburg, passed away on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018. She was born on Nov. 8, 1938, to her parents, Carl and Melba Barnwell, and grew up in the Tabor community of Crossville. Carlee married the love of her life, Hoy Wyatt, in June 1954. She owned and operated her beauty salon and beauty school for years. Carlee and Hoy moved to Gatlinburg in 1976 and entered into real estate and other business ventures. The holiday season always brought great joy to Carlee as she enthusiastically cooked delicious meals for her family while making lasting memories around her dinner table. She loved spending time with her family and cherished every moment with her children and grandchildren. Carlee will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Venable and Melba Hamby Barnwell; her husband, Hoy Wyatt; daughter, Dayna Day; sister, Connie Hill; brother, Rondal Barnwell; and nephews, Carl Barnwell and Brian Smith.
Carlee is survived by her son, Eddie Wyatt and wife, Anna Wyatt, of Sebring, FL; grandchildren, Laura Holbert and husband, John Holbert, of Pigeon Forge, James Wade of Sevierville, Darrel Wyatt of Crossville and Carlee Wyatt of Rossville, GA; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Cooper Holbert, James and Kylea Wade, Trace Huddleston, Eli Wyatt, Koi Wyatt and Jay Hassler; sister, Carolyn Whittenburg of Crossville; several generations of nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Memorial donations are encouraged to be sent to the Sevier County Humane Society, P.O. Box 976, Pigeon Forge, TN 37868. The family received friends from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Brother Terry Barnwell officiated and Eddie Wyatt provided the eulogy. The graveside and interment followed the funeral in Atchley's Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens, Pigeon Forge. Carlee will be missed so very much. Although we only had the pleasure of having her in our lives for two short years, we will think of her often. We will miss playing with her two companions, Bonnie and Buddy. Rest in peace Carlee. We love you.
