Billie "Bill" Edward Buffaloe, 85, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Glenwood Healthcare in Florence, AL. He was born in Prentiss County, MS, and was raised in Lawrence County, TN.
He retired from Elkem Metals as vice president of administration and was a member of Fairfield Glade Interdenominational in Fairfield Glade, TN. He served as vice president and president of both the Florence, AL, Jaycees and Alabama Jaycees where he also served state-wide as secretary, vice president and president. Nationally, Buffaloe was elected vice president and was responsible in the position for the southern states. Buffaloe was very active in many other community and civic affairs and encouraged others to be involved as well. Buffaloe served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby Turner and Pansy Scott Buffaloe.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Holland Buffaloe, Lawrenceburg, TN; sons, Dennis Buffaloe (Lisa), Cordova, TN, and Larry Buffaloe (Debbie), Florence, AL; daughter, Melanie B. Ginn, Florence, AL; grandchildren, Molly Taylor (Matt), Nathan Buffaloe, Bill Ginn (Jocelyn), Cory Buffaloe and Scott Buffaloe; great grandchild, Shaelin Ginn; and cousins, Kenneth Buffaloe and Jerry Brink. He is also survived by the Holland Family and Union Carbide Family.
The family would like to thank The Summit, Glenwood Healthcare, North AL Hospice, and his favorite two Cathy's for all the care given to Mr. Buffaloe.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Ave., Lawrenceburg, TN. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, with Larry Harper officiating. Interment will follow at John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. Family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
