"Granny" Betty Jo Dixon, 78, of Crossville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN.
She was born March 7, 1938, in Muleshoe, TX, daughter of the late Haskel Tipton and Jewell (Richardson) Tipton. Betty Jo was a factory worker in a textile plant and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Terry (D.M.) Murphy, Crossville; sons, Tommy Dixon, Dean (Kay) Dixon, Denny Dixon and Winston Tipton. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Betty Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Thomas Dixon; grandchildren, Aaron Dixon, Jimmy Dixon and Chelsea Hatfield; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Thompson Dixon; sister, Lucille Grimes; and sister-in-law, Judy Tipton.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Harold Qualls officiating. Interment in Fredonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carl Dixon, Joe Hall, Joey Myers, Jackie Myers, Daniel Murphy and Greg Dixon.
