Funeral services for Arthur Doyle Green, 77, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, at noon in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastor Nolan Cantrell and Donnie Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Sept. 8, from 3-7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 9, 10 a.m. to noon at Presley Funeral Home.
Arthur Doyle Green passed away Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at his home in Cookeville, following brief illness.
He was born Thursday, Nov. 16, 1939, in Cumberland County, to the late Noah Amberson Green and Susie Eunice McDonald Green.
Mr. Green worked for Frontier Communications and their predecessors for over 39 years. He was an active member of the Upper Cumberland Horseback Riders Club. He enjoyed fishing with his family on Center Hill Lake. Nothing was more precious to him than spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was preceded in death by two brothers, Arlis Green and Allard Green; and two sisters, Lorene Hamby and Zodell Bible.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanda Harville Green; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Dana Green of Cookeville; daughter, Vanessa Medley of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Brooke Green, Jonathan Medley and wife Chelsey, Britney Maurer and husband Daniel, Dustin Green and wife Kalan, and Eric Medley and wife, Katelyn; five great-grandchildren, Davis Burton, Hayden Maurer, Lily Maurer, Balin Medley and Avalyn Medley; three sisters, Emogene Bowman, Glenna Matthews and husband Paul, and Joyce England and husband Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Green, Jonathan Medley, Eric Medley, Daniel Maurer, Adam Milam and Jimmy Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Bible, Tony Bible, Treavor Bible and Lyndon Marcom.
