Archie Eugene McCoy, 74, of Crossville, passed away peacefully on Jan. 23, 2018. He was born on May 8, 1943, to Mirtie and Helen Howard McCoy in Lancing, TN. Archie served in the U.S. Army from April 7, 1961, to March 31, 1964. He worked for Chrysler Motor Company in Michigan and after retirement enjoyed delivering pizza for Papa John's.
He was an avid musician and meticulous craftsman. He had extreme talent in guitar playing and singing and was a member of several bands throughout his life.
Archie is survived by his wife, Kim Terry McCoy; children, Jennifer Phagan (Luke) and Shane McCoy (Michelle); grandchildren, Cameron and Ciara Phagan and Dylan and Ryan McCoy; sister, Brenda Wing; and a host of special nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mirtie and Helen McCoy; sister, Wanda Cox; brother, Paul McCoy; and special aunt, Evelyn Howard Mayes.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Clear Creek Church in Lancing, TN, from noon to 2 p.m. Eastern with services following visitation. He will be laid to rest in Clear Creek Cemetery. Bro. Roy Langley will be officiating.
