Jan. 19, 2015 Ann Kennedy passed on to her final reward, peacefully, in her 88th year, Jan. 19, 2015, leaving behind her beloved husband of 65-years, Walter; her children, Richard, Debbie Marshall and son-in-law, Greg, and Jim and daughter-in-law, Judy; and her beautiful granddaughter, Brooke; and her step-grandson, Jeff Wicks. Also surviving Ann were her brothers, John and William Shopoff, along with nieces and a nephew, Donna, Linda and Andon. Ann was born in Detroit, MI, and was a long-time resident of Southfield, MI, where she was a member of Northbrook Presbyterian Church. Ann was involved with several organizations, not the least of which was the Junior Good Will, which raised money for many worthy organizations. In retirement, Ann and Walt split time between Venice, FL, and Fairfield Glade, where they enjoyed golf and time with family and many dear friends. Ann and Walt particularly enjoyed their neighbors on Heather Glen Drive, special folks with whom they developed wonderful friendships. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The MSA Coalition (www.multiplesystematrophy.org ). This organization supports individuals and families affected by Multiple Systems Atrophy. Ann's son-in-law Greg has been diagnosed with this fatal disease and the family supports the Coalitions' mission of education, support and research. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 17, at 11 a.m. at the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, 231 Westchester Dr., in Crossville. The family will visit with friends following the service with a light luncheon at the church. Interment at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, Troy, MI, will occur at the convenience of the family.
